Rosetta Stone, the language-learning software corporation, commissioned Seattle's Hunt Marketing Group to build RosettaStories.com to support the launch of a comprehensive rebranding effort. It's purpose was to collect stories from users about how the software had impacted their life. Since the launch was being promoted by a national advertising campaign that involved television media placement, the site had to be able to support up to 10000 submissions (including photo uploads) per hour. Super Pod LLC engineered the site to comply with strict capacity, fail-over and security guidelines. Also included was a secure administrative area that supported submission search, downloads in archived and Excel formats, and extensive usage statistics.

The site was built with Ruby on Rails and was driven by a MySql database. Custom site-monitoring software was engineered to alert engineers upon heavy load conditions. Extensive security precautions were also implemented. Other technologies included Apache 2.0 mods, database accelerators, Javascript, XML, CSS and SSL.
